Carrefour Group has acquired Brazilian digital content company e-Media in a deal worth USD10 million. The acquired company deals with food, gastronomy and healthy living. Via this acquisition, Carrefour gains control of the Cyber Cook, Vila Mulher and Cyber Diet websites. Cyber Cook is the main among the three websites with over 100,000 recipes. The retailer aims to integrate the website with its eCommerce offer to facilitate purchase of ingredients mentioned in the recipes. Alexandre Canatella, CEO of e-Media said, “By offering tools to plan purchases and meals, we help users optimize time, resources and food themselves by buying more intelligently and sustainably.”
